Biography
The duo known as TGR – Melo and Breeze -- came to music on their own terms. Melo started making music because his friends did. He wasn’t confident in his abilities at first, but eventually found his niche – somewhere between Ludacris and Wale. Breeze had always been a fan of music, and first formed a group with some high school friends. People said they had a great sound, and his love for creating deepened.
A lot of today’s rap music revels in drug culture, and features lyrics that are barely comprehensible. TGR’s music is clearly heard, visualized, and understood. There is meaning in their message, and every song they make is distinct. They can write and rap to any beat, and their style transcends genres. They are principled artists who aren’t afraid to share their emotions and reflect on life once they step into the booth.
When writing, Breeze says the duo allows beats and vibes to guide them. TGR aren’t gangsters. They’re chill, laid-back dudes who like to turn up and have fun. They share a bond – joking, sharing, and vibing with each other. They want people to know that young, black dudes can be brothers, do business together, create together, and have a great time all the while. That in itself may be an inspiration to others.
